Profile of Labangon BLISS Elementary School
Labangon BLISS Elementary School got its name from the acronym BLISS that means Bagong Lipunan Improvement Sites and Services, a housing project of the former First Lady, Mrs. ImeldaR. Marcos. This housing project is just next to Labangon Elementary School which is a big school. To decongest Labangon Elementary School, LBES was established and its populace then was at first occupying the now, Don Sergio Osmeña Memorial National High School. A few years after, the present site rose, and was named Labangon BLISS Elementary School. Initially, it was meant to serve the children of those residing at the BLISS Housing and its vicinity. As the years went by, its population grew, thus increasing the number of school buildings.
Today, it is catering to more than two thousand pupils from Barangay Calamba and other neighboring barangays.
Labangon BLISS Elementary School was built in 1979 with a area of 0.5436 hectare donated by Dpn Sergio, Sr. It is located along Balaga Drive, Labangon, Cebu City which is three kilometers away from the Provincial Capitol, and about 500 meters away from Natalio Bacalso Avenue.
